Fresh mustard greens, complete with leaves, stems, and yellow flowers. Every part is edible and contributes to the pungent, peppery flavor of the dish.

Bundles of mustard greens, a staple green in many parts of Northeast India. They are often used in simple boils, stir-fries, or with smoked meats.

About Leafy Greens & Herbs

We deliver these greens 'wet market' style. This means the bundles often arrive with roots and a bit of soil attached, which keeps them crisp during transit. You will need to give them a thorough wash before cooking, but this is the only way to get that authentic hill-harvest freshness in the city.

Getting the right herbs for Northeast Indian cooking in Bangalore is usually a compromise. Most markets only carry generic coriander or spinach, which do not match the required flavor profiles. We source authentic varieties directly from hill farms to bridge that gap.

Our Seasonal Green Selection

  • Culantro (Bandhaniya): Often called Naga coriander, this has a much sharper, more pungent aroma than regular cilantro. It is essential for meat boils and chutney bases. We supply it with roots intact so it stays fresh longer.
  • Chayote Shoots (Iskus Muntha): These are the tender vines and tendrils of the squash plant. They have a delicate, slightly sweet taste and a unique crunch. They cook down quickly and are best used in simple stir-fries.
  • Mustard Greens: These are the real deal, including leaves, stems, and flowers. They provide that signature peppery bite that is hard to replicate with supermarket produce. They work well in both simple boils and with smoked meats.
  • Pennywort (Gotu Kola): A staple in Manipuri cooking, specifically for salads like Singju. It has a refreshing, slightly bitter flavor profile.

Delivery & Prep

Since our produce comes from Northeast hill farms, availability is strictly seasonal. Some weeks we have a surplus of one item, and other weeks it might be out of stock. We deliver locally in Ejipura and Koramangala, ensuring these greens do not sit in transit for days. Because they are shipped raw, we recommend cleaning and using them within a day or two of delivery for the best texture. If you are looking for something specific, message us to check today's harvest.
