Rooted in tradition but focused on your individual growth, our classes blend technical vocal training with the soul of Indian music.

We begin many of our lessons with devotional music to center the mind and spirit. This video demonstrates how we use the four basic notes 'S R G M' to teach the 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' dhun on the keyboard, a foundational piece for our beginner singers.

Our online student Naisha from New Delhi showcases her talent by singing and playing devotional bhajans on the harmonium. We are proud to nurture such dedicated and intelligent young artists through our online vocal classes.

This video features a student's rendition of the bhajan 'Achyutam Keshavam' on the harmonium. It also serves as a tutorial, showing the sargam notes for learners who want to play this beautiful prayer. We offer lessons for students worldwide.

A demonstration of the bhajan 'Om Jai Jagdish Hare' played on a Casio SA-50 mini piano. This keyboard's built-in Tabla and Tanpura rhythms make it an excellent tool for kids to practice devotional songs.

An online student practices the 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' chant on his keyboard. Learning devotional music helps students connect with their cultural roots while improving their musical skills.

An offline student at our Mumbai branch deep in her singing practice. She is working on 'Sargam' and 'Alankar 3,' which are essential exercises for building vocal strength and flexibility in Indian classical music.

Correct practice involves training your ear. Here, a new student practices singing the swaras 'Ma Ga Re Sa' while playing them on the piano to ensure her pitch is accurate. This is a fundamental step in our vocal improvement training.

This clip shows our online student Jiya from Chicago attempting her first 'Bandish' in 'Raag Khamaj'. This demonstrates our advanced curriculum in Indian Classical vocals for our international students.

A short clip demonstrating the 'Aalap' or 'Sargam' for the song 'Guzarish'. This is an example of the advanced vocal techniques and Bollywood song breakdowns we teach in our classes.

It's never too late to learn music. This video features a student from our senior batch (25+) practicing her vocal exercises. We have dedicated batches for adults who wish to pursue their passion for singing.

About The Soul of Music: Indian Classical & Devotional

We don't use auto-tune here; we train your ear. Our sessions focus on 'Sur-Sadhana'—using Pranayam for breath control and practicing with an electronic tanpura—to ensure every note you hit is pitch-perfect, whether you’re learning a devotional bhajan or a Bollywood classic.

At Nitz Music Academy, we believe music is a journey of self-discovery, not a race to get a degree. We don't just teach you to sing songs; we train you to understand the grammar of sound. Whether you join our offline sessions in Mumbai or our online classes connecting students worldwide, our methodology remains the same: grounding in Indian classical roots.

How We Build Your Voice

  • The Foundation: We start with Sargam and Alankars. It might sound repetitive, but it’s the only way to build vocal strength and flexibility.
  • Customized Learning: We provide handwritten notes for specific Raags and playback techniques, giving you the resources you need to practice effectively at home.
  • Performance Ready: We treat performance as the true test of your progress. From in-class recordings to academy events like Vasant Panchami, you get the stage experience needed to overcome hesitation.

Why This Approach Works

Music is therapy for us. If you are struggling with a specific Raag or just want to sing your favorite devotional songs with clarity, we work with your raw voice to identify exactly where you need to improve. We strip away the shortcuts so you can call yourself a musician with pride. If you are ready to put in the time to learn, we are ready to teach.
