About Hindustani Vocal Training
At The Music Gurukul, we keep our batch sizes small—typically 4 to 6 students—so every singer gets direct guidance on pitch and sur. You will notice our studio isn’t just a classroom; it is a shared space where parents are welcome to sit in on sessions, providing the active support that true musical progress requires.
Building Your Voice
Learning Hindustani vocals is a journey, not a quick fix. We focus on building your foundation through Sargam and Alankars, ensuring you develop breath control and clarity. Whether you are aiming to master specific Raags or simply want to find your own voice, our curriculum is designed to help you progress at a steady pace.
The Gurukul Experience
We believe music education is about more than just hitting notes. Our sessions emphasize the discipline of daily practice, but we make sure the process remains joyful. Our Mumbai-based studios in Chembur and Matunga offer an authentic environment where students use harmoniums and tanpura accompaniment to train their ears. We also offer hybrid options, so if you cannot make it to the studio, you can continue your training online without missing a session.
Performance & Growth
Theory is only half the battle. We provide regular opportunities to perform in our 'Musical Saturdays' jam sessions and annual concerts. These events help you build the stage presence and confidence needed to excel, whether you are singing Indian classical pieces or Bollywood tracks. We also prepare students for recognized certifications like Gandharva Mahavidyalaya if you are looking to formalize your training.
We welcome everyone—from young kids to seniors—to join our community and start this journey. It takes commitment, but we are here to support you every step of the way.
The Music Gurukul
I founded The Music Gurukul to create a community that values both hard work and the joy of expression. We don't just teach vocal techniques; we help you build the confidence to perform. Come join us in the studio, sit in on a session, and see how our approach fits your musical goals.
