About Grand Dance Drama: 'KRISHNA - Love, Compassion & Protection'
Unlike standard stage performances, our 'Krishna' dance drama is a technical production requiring 3-4 hours of sound and lighting setup. We coordinate directly with your venue's technical team to manage cues for the 12-15 dancers, live orchestra, and theatrical props, ensuring the narrative flow remains seamless from start to finish.
Bringing Mythological Stories to Life
This production is designed to be more than just a dance performance; it is a full-scale theatrical experience. We focus on 'abhinaya' (expression) and precise geometric formations to tell the tales of Krishna—from his playful childhood leelas to his role as a protector. Each scene is crafted to transport the audience, utilizing high-quality, character-specific costumes from the Natyambara boutique.
Artistic & Production Scope
When we stage this drama, we bring an ensemble of 12-15 performers. For larger events, we include a 5-piece live orchestra (Nattuvangam, Vocalist, Mridangam, Flute/Violin).
What we provide:
- Choreography & Direction: Fully managed by me, ensuring the story's emotional arc is preserved.
- Theatrical Elements: We utilize production-grade props like cradles and chariots to ground the story in reality.
- Technical Coordination: We provide a cue sheet for your venue's lighting engineer to ensure mood lighting complements the music and dance.
Planning Your Event
We are experienced in performing at venues ranging from temple halls like Udupi Sri Krishna Matha to professional theatres in Bangalore. Because this production involves costume changes and complex formations, we require a dedicated green room space for the dancers and early access to the stage for a sound check.
