My Journey on the Platform: Lifts & Medals
This is the standard I set before I ever step onto the coaching floor. See the weights I move and the medals I’ve earned, built on the same "You vs You" discipline I teach every day.
Competing at the State Weightlifting Championships. This is me executing a clean and jerk on the competition platform and later receiving a bronze medal. Every competition is a chance to test my limits and I am always grateful for the opportunity.
This was a successful clean and jerk during the Karnataka State Senior Weightlifting Championships. For me, success is about giving my best effort every single time and constantly working to improve my technique and strength.
A successful 150kg clean and jerk during my second attempt at the 2022 State Weightlifting Championship. This lift helped secure a silver medal. The focus here is on explosive power from the floor and stability in the overhead position.
A look at a typical training day, hitting a 180kg deadlift and working up to a 201kg season best. Consistency in training is what builds the foundation for peak performance on competition day.
A new personal record with a 205kg back squat. This lift is a cornerstone of any strength program, and I focus on maintaining a solid, upright posture and full depth to build maximum power. Jai Hanuman.
Hitting a new personal record with a 170kg snatch grip deadlift. This variation is excellent for building pulling strength and reinforcing the proper positions for the snatch.
Practicing hang snatch variations to improve speed and power under the bar. This Olympic lifting drill is crucial for developing the explosive hip extension needed for a successful lift.
Working on box snatches, a drill used to improve technique and build confidence from different pulling positions. This helps isolate parts of the lift to strengthen weak points.
A training session focused on building overall strength, including overhead squats, front squats, and heavy bench presses. A well rounded program is key to long term progress and injury prevention.
This training montage shows the variety of lifts we work on, from snatches to heavy back squats and deadlifts. Each movement serves a specific purpose in building a complete strength athlete.
About My Journey on the Platform: Lifts & Medals
Every lift you see here, from the 205kg back squat to my competition clean and jerks, is a reflection of the standard I hold myself to. I don't ask my athletes at Barbellhouse to do anything I haven't done myself. When you train with me, you’re not just following a program off a sheet; you’re learning from someone who lives the same grueling schedule of training, recovery, and competition prep.
I didn't start lifting until I was 22. People said it was too late, but that’s where the "You vs You" fight truly began. It’s never been about beating the other guy—it's about silencing that voice in your head that tells you to stop. Whether I’m at the Karnataka State Weightlifting Championships or grinding for a new personal record in the gym, the mindset remains identical.
Why This Matters for Your Training
When you work with a coach, you need to know they walk the talk. I bring this same competitive intensity to our sessions in RR Nagar. My approach is simple:
- Technical Integrity: In Olympic weightlifting, one inch of difference in your pull can make or break a lift. I use the same video analysis and technique drills on you that I use to correct my own bar path.
- The "No-Shortcut" Rule: There is no magic pill. We track everything, from your BMR to your macronutrients, because if you aren't measuring it, you aren't managing it.
- Competition Mindset: If you are prepping for a meet or a specific sports event, I help you with attempt selection and mental prep. If you are a beginner, we build your foundation, drilling the basics until they are automatic.
Banni, banni! (Come, come!) Stop waiting for the perfect moment. We have the Bullrock racks, the platforms, and the environment. All you need to bring is the hunger to work.
Barbellhouse
I’m Nata Raja. I built Barbellhouse from scratch because I know what it’s like to chase a dream when you’ve got nothing but grit. I live for the barbell, and when you train with me, you’re getting the same intensity and technical focus that got me to the national stage.
