A Gentle, Play-Based Approach to Swimming
I believe learning to swim should be as natural and fun as playtime. Using rhymes, games, and a patient, child-led pace, I help your little one build real confidence in the water, one splash at a time.

About this collection
My philosophy relies on something I call 'play-based conditioning.' Instead of forcing drills, we turn every lesson into a game. Whether we are doing a 'monkey walk' along the pool wall to build grip strength, or playing hide-and-seek to practice breath control, every activity has a specific safety purpose. I don't force or rush; if a child is having a rough day, we pause, sing a rhyme, and recalibrate. This consistency is how we turn water fear into water confidence.
Why I Coach This Way
When I’m in the pool, I’m not just a coach—I’m a guide. I started my journey teaching my own son, Azai, and that experience completely shifted how I view instruction. Parents often worry about their children crying or resisting the water, but I see that as a normal part of the process. My method focuses on three core pillars:
- Comfort Over Speed: We never skip the basics. Before we swim, we float. Before we float, we get used to having water on our faces. We go at your child's pace, which is the only way to build a foundation that lasts.
- Safety Through Fun: Using tools like 'spidey jumps' and 'pancake flips' keeps children engaged. When they are laughing and singing, they don't realize they are actually practicing critical survival skills like kicking, holding the wall, and breath control.
- Parent-Child Connection: In my sessions, you aren't a spectator. You are a participant. Your presence provides the security your child needs to take risks, making these sessions as much about bonding as they are about skill-building.
The AUSTSWIM Difference
Being Australia Swim Institute certified means my techniques are rooted in professional, proven safety protocols. This isn't just about 'swimming lessons'; it is about water familiarization and survival. I treat every 30-minute session as a vital step in your child's development, ensuring they are not just comfortable in the water, but actually capable of handling themselves safely.
Nappy Nemo
Hey, I’m Prateeksha. As a mom to Azai, I know the exact worries parents have about water safety. That is why I don't just teach swimming; I create a space where your little one feels secure enough to explore, splash, and find their rhythm in the water.
