Infant and Parent-Child Swimming
I create safe, play-based swimming experiences for babies in their own home pools, building water confidence one splash at a time.
This is what it's all about: pure joy and trust in the water. As a teacher and a mom, my first priority is making sure every baby feels safe, loved, and happy. The learning naturally follows when we start with fun and cuddles.
I teach essential safety skills like the 'Monkey Walk' right from the start. This simple technique empowers children, teaching them how to hold onto the pool edge and move to safety if they ever fall in. It's a foundational skill for water confidence.
This is what's possible with gentle, consistent practice. Here, a baby is learning independent back floating, a critical life-saving skill. It's amazing to watch them discover their natural buoyancy and feel calm and in control in the water.
My classes are a space for bonding and creating memories. A playful somersault with dad is more than just fun; it builds a positive association with water and helps your child feel secure with you in the pool.
Many parents ask why they need to be in the pool. Your presence provides comfort, reassurance, and safety, which helps your child learn faster. These shared moments of learning and encouragement are what make parent-child swim classes so special.
The journey to water confidence begins at home. I encourage parents to start with simple water acclimation during bathtime. Gently pouring water and making it a fun game helps prepare your child for the pool, making their first lesson a tear-free experience.
Water safety extends beyond the lesson. When shopping for swimwear, always choose bright, neon colors. This simple choice dramatically increases your child's visibility in the water, adding a crucial layer of safety at the pool or beach.
About this collection
Many parents worry about their baby crying during that first submersion. I handle this by focusing on 'water acclimation' first, using gentle pouring techniques at home bathtime to ensure your baby is ready for the pool, which makes our actual lesson tear-free and focused purely on play.
Swimming isn't just about learning laps. For babies as young as four months, it is about creating a safe, positive relationship with water. My classes are structured to remove the fear often associated with pools by using song, rhythm, and gentle movement.
Why I Focus on Play-Based Learning
My method is simple: children learn best when they are happy. We use 'pancake flips', 'monkey walks' along the pool edge, and 'spidey jumps' to teach skills like breath control and buoyancy without the stress of formal drills. This playful approach builds trust, which is the most important foundation for any infant swimmer.
Safety First
As an Australian Swim Institute certified instructor, I teach essential survival skills right from the start. The 'monkey walk' is a perfect example. It teaches your child to hold the pool edge and pull themselves to safety if they ever fall in, which is a critical skill for any toddler. We practice these movements through games so they become muscle memory.
The Role of Parents
You do not need to be a strong swimmer yourself. My classes are designed for parents to join in. Your physical presence in the water provides comfort and reassurance that no instructor can replicate. I will guide you on how to hold, support, and interact with your baby, turning the session into a special bonding experience for both of you.
I Come to You
I travel to your building or home pool across Mumbai. This keeps your baby in a familiar environment, which helps them stay calm and receptive to learning. We focus on consistency and patience, celebrating every small win—from the first independent float to the first confident kick.
