Aam ka Achaar: Authentic Punjabi Mango Pickles
Bring home the taste of nostalgia. Our mango pickles are handmade by my Maa using sun-dried mangoes and traditional Punjabi masalas, just like we grew up eating.
These are the small, bite-sized cubes of our classic Aam ka Achaar. They are perfect for mixing with rice or just having a small bite when you crave that tangy flavour.
A close-up of our Aam ka Hing Wala Achaar. The powerful aroma and flavour of asafoetida (hing) mixed with raw mango is a traditional combination that many people grew up with.
Our Khatta Meetha Aam Laccha is a sweet and sour pickle made from shredded raw mangoes. It has a jam-like consistency and is a favourite among kids and adults who prefer a milder taste.
Look at these juicy, sun-dried mango chunks soaked in mom's special masala. This is our signature Punjabi mango pickle, full of flavour and nostalgia.
A quick spin around our Mango Pickle jar. You can see the rich, dark colour that comes from traditional sun-drying and the blend of authentic spices.
We wanted to make sure our Hing ka Achaar gets the attention it deserves. It's a strong, pungent, and absolutely delicious pickle for those who love bold flavours.
About this collection
You might notice our mango chunks have a slightly firmer texture than mass-produced brands. That is because we sun-dry them the old-school way instead of using machines to speed up the process. This method allows the Kachi Ghani mustard oil to soak deep into the mangoes, giving you that bold, authentic Punjabi punch in every bite without any artificial preservatives.
More than just a pickle
For us, an Achaar isn't just a side dish; it is an emotion. When you open a jar of our mango pickle, you are getting a recipe that has been refined in our home kitchen for years. We do not use commercial shortcuts—no artificial colours, no sodium benzoate, and no industrial driers.
The Mango Collection
- Classic Punjabi Aam ka Achaar: This is the version everyone grew up with. Sharp mustard oil, coarse spices, and tangy mango chunks.
- Hing Wala Achaar: The asafoetida (hing) adds a savoury, earthy depth that cuts through the heat. It is a traditional digestion-friendly favourite.
- Khatta Meetha Aam Laccha: If you prefer something milder, this shredded sweet and sour mango pickle tastes almost like a preserve. It is a hit with both kids and adults.
How we make it
Every batch begins with raw mangoes, washed and sun-dried until the moisture is gone. We then mix them with a 'dardara' (coarsely ground) blend of fennel, nigella seeds, and fenugreek. Finally, we pour in pure Kachi Ghani mustard oil. We pack these in high-grade glass jars because plastic tends to alter the taste of the spices over time.
When you receive your order, store it in a cool, dry place. Always use a dry spoon to keep the jar fresh for months. It is real, honest food from our kitchen to yours.
Moms Desi Pickle
When I say 'made by my Maa', I mean it. She handles every spice and jar personally in our kitchen. These recipes come from our childhood, and the only secret ingredient she uses is the patience to let the sun do its work.
