High-Fashion and Editorial Makeup Looks
Conceptual makeup and avant-garde hair for fashion lookbooks, magazines, and artistic projects. From graphic liners to structured, high-fashion styles, I bring your creative vision to life.
For this conceptual shoot, I created a dramatic reverse cat-eye and tribal-inspired dot work on the brow bone. The look is complemented by hand-painted red alta on the fingers, creating a raw and powerful visual.
An edgy editorial look featuring a green smokey eye and a textured wet hairstyle. This combination of bold color and modern hair styling is designed to make a strong statement in fashion photography.
A dramatic shot for a fashion designer's collection. I created a smokey eye and styled the model's hair with wet, sculpted tendrils to match the avant-garde feel of the purple draped gown.
A powerful high-fashion look for a designer collection, featuring sharp, dark, winged eyeliner and a sleek, pulled-back hairstyle. The focus is on creating a strong, almost architectural facial structure.
This look, titled "The Sea of Life," features a glass-skin makeup finish and a wet, slicked-back hairstyle. The goal was to create an ethereal, almost aquatic feel that complements the flowing, translucent garments.
A full-length view of a high-fashion look for a designer brand. I created a messy, artistic updo with loose, wet-look tendrils to complement the structured, two-tone red blazer.
An androgynous, edgy look for a male model in a fashion editorial. I used a dark, smudged graphic eyeliner and styled the hair with a sleek, wet finish to match the avant-garde knitwear.
An editorial shoot set in a bustling market. I created a look that feels both contemporary and grounded, with natural curls and makeup that enhances the model's features against the vibrant, textured background.
A creative editorial look featuring long, flowing hair with red thread accents and a dramatic reverse cat-eye. The makeup includes intricate dot work along the browline for a tribal-inspired aesthetic.
Another angle of the tribal-inspired editorial, showing the detail of the reverse cat-eye and the hand-painted alta. The makeup is designed to be both artistic and expressive.
About High-Fashion & Editorial Looks
Editorial work requires more than standard beauty makeup, as it must hold up under harsh studio lighting and intense camera focus. I specialize in selecting the right textures, from high-gloss face lacquers to skin-safe adhesives for embellishments, ensuring the makeup remains pristine under 4K resolution. Whether the brief calls for a wet-look editorial or a pigment-heavy avant-garde concept, I work closely with your photographer to adjust skin texture and finish in real-time, ensuring the makeup complements the garment rather than fighting against it.
High-fashion projects demand technical precision. Whether we are building a structural avant-garde concept or creating a clean, high-concept look for a magazine spread, my process starts well before the camera starts clicking.
My Editorial Approach
- Pre-Production: I collaborate on mood boards to ensure the makeup and hair direction aligns with the photographer’s vision and the collection's theme.
- Technical Execution: I utilize professional-grade materials like alcohol-activated paints for durability, high-gloss lacquers for that specific glass-skin aesthetic, and structural products like wire or heavy-hold gels for creating anti-gravity hair shapes.
- Lighting Adaptation: On-set, I monitor tethered screens to adjust texture—shifting between matte and gloss—depending on the camera angle and lighting intensity.
- Safe Removal: For heavy avant-garde looks involving prosthetic glue or intricate embellishments, I handle the removal process to ensure the model's skin integrity remains intact post-shoot.
I am based in Mumbai but travel across India for projects. I understand the pace of an 8-hour commercial shift and the attention to detail required for single-look, high-stakes editorial spreads. My kit is stocked for everything from wet-look hairstyles to graphic, precision eyeliner, and I work with a dedicated junior assistant to ensure rapid look changes do not stall your production timeline.
