About Chenda Training & Arangetam Services
Feel the Chenda Vibe
I teach Chenda not just as an instrument, but as an experience. If you've ever felt the energy at a Melam, you know what I mean. The sound, the beat, the rush… that's what you learn with me. This is for anyone in Bangalore who wants to dive into Kerala percussion training and find their own rhythm.
What You’re Signing Up For
Chenda is heavy - literally and mentally. One try lifting it, onnu thookki nokkiye (just try lifting it), you’ll know. Playing for hours? Trust me, oru pain und (there’s pain), but the satisfaction hits different. I look for students with passion and grit. If you’re after a shortcut, this isn’t it. But if you want the real thing, you’ll get it.
How I Train
I start you from zero and take you through traditional Chenda Melam ensemble styles. Classes are for all ages and backgrounds. You’ll:
- Learn basics and techniques from scratch
- Practice in groups, feel the unity and power
- Build stamina for those long, energetic performances
Your Arangetam: The Big Moment
The end goal? Your Chenda debut performance - the Arangetam. I handle everything: from picking the right (usually temple) venue, managing the event, making sure it’s a proper celebration, and even getting your name out in local papers. It’s your time to shine, and I make sure it’s memorable.
What’s Next?
Some of my students go on to join our main team. If you’ve got the fire, Arangetam is just the start.

My Story
We are Mahadeva Kalasamithi, not just a band, more like a gang of brothers, all tied together by our love for Chenda. Our name? Blessing from Mahadeva himself. Five years, so many wild shows - college fests, weddings, even Gujarat! Honestly, best times are after the show, chilling with the team. This is in our veins, not just a job. Seeing our students do their Chenda Arangetam, seeing our faces in the paper... nothing beats that feeling.
My Work
What we do - We bring Shinkarimelam, Chendamelam, Onam percussion band, and even Chenda fusion performance for any celebration.
Feel the Aaravam - We create that real 'vere level' vibe, making everyone dance and feel the beats, not just hear them.
All Heart, All Power - Chenda is heavy, man. We play for hours, sweat and pain included, but every event gets our full energy.
Passing on the Beat - We teach youngsters for their Chenda Arangetam, keeping this art alive for the next gen.
