About Chenda Melam Performance
What Chenda Melam Means to Us
Chenda Melam is not just sound - it's pure energy. I love watching everyone, from little kids to achan-ammamma (grandparents), get pulled into the rhythm and just forget themselves. My aim? Simple - I want the beats to hit you right in the heart and set the mood for the day.
Styles We Bring
I can go all-out traditional or flip things up with fusion. Here’s how I roll:
- For temple festivals and spiritual gatherings, I stick to what our ancestors did best - think Panjarimelam and Singarimelam, where every beat has a story.
- If you want the party vibe, I mix Chenda fusion with DJ and let the beats blast with electronic music. It’s loud and wild, no lies.
- And if you have a special idea, I’m always up for customising the set - just tell me your vibe.
Where You’ll Find Us
I play at grand Kalyana Melam procession artists gigs, temple events, Onam (biggest crowd-puller!), and even corporate launches. Welcoming guests with Kerala traditional percussion is kind of my thing.
Who We Are
We’re not just a group - we’re a bunch of passionate artists. Depending on your event, I can bring anywhere from 6 to over 100 performers. Our team is a mix of old hands, fresh faces, and even female Chenda players Bangalore. For tradition, we go full-on mundu. For fusion, we switch to casuals. No pretence, just pure vibe.
