About A Taste of Maffei: The Ambiance
When you walk into our dining rooms, you will notice that the space is designed for flow. Our lighting transitions from bright and airy during lunch to a soft, intimate warmth as the evening sets in, making it ideal for both business lunches and quiet anniversary dinners. We intentionally arranged our seating to provide a mix of open, social tables near the bar and more private, tucked-away booths if you prefer a quieter conversation.
The ambiance at Maffei Kitchen is an extension of the food I grew up eating. I wanted to build a bridge between Bangalore and the Mediterranean coast, which is why you will see specific design choices that honor that heritage. The intricate tilework you see behind the bar is a nod to traditional craftsmanship, while our high ceilings and arched windows are designed to make the space feel open, light, and comfortable.
Whether you are visiting our Koramangala outpost or our location on Cunningham Road, the goal is the same: to provide a break from the city's rush. Our two-story wine cellar acts as a visual anchor, creating a sophisticated backdrop for our wine and cocktail service, while the warm wood tones and plush teal seating keep the environment grounded and relaxed. I am Chef Ammar Molki, and Maffei Kitchen is my dream of bringing the Mediterranean heart to Bangalore. I personally oversaw the design of our spaces to ensure every corner, from the tiled bar to the quietest dining booth, feels like a home where you can truly relax and savor your meal.
