About Recognition & Publications
Awards are meaningful markers, but they are not the end goal for us. What truly validates the work is seeing a project like the Dr. Vishnuvardhan Memorial, featured in Architectures of Transition, evolve into a space where local children practice dance and residents find quiet pause. That is the real metric of success.
Receiving industry recognition is a humbling experience that encourages us to continue our pursuit of slow architecture. Our recent inclusion in the Monocle Design Awards, specifically in the Best in Brick category, was a significant milestone. It validated our belief that honest, vernacular materials like brick, when used with intent, can produce spaces that resonate on a global scale. This award was not just for a structure, but for the quality of life the project fosters.
Equally important to our practice is our contribution to academic discourse. Being featured in Architectures of Transition: Emergent Practices in South Asia by researchers from Harvard GSD was a highlight for our team. This publication documents a new generation of studios across the region, and having our work—including the Dr. Vishnuvardhan Memorial and our vertical campus projects—included is a testament to the importance of context-responsive design.
We believe that architecture should be a form of spatial storytelling. Whether it is a memorial in Mysore or an urban intervention, our goal remains the same: to create pockets for community interaction and to allow nature to integrate seamlessly into the built environment. These publications serve as a record of our ongoing dialogue with the landscape and the communities we serve.
