The Way of Kyokushin Karate

This is my personal practice and the traditional foundation of my teaching. Through kata and daily discipline, we build the mental grit necessary for true Kyokushin.

A demonstration of Saifa kata. Kata is the foundation of karate, containing all the principles of combat. It is a form of moving meditation and solo practice.

About this collection

Kata is the diagnostic tool I use to correct your balance and breathing. When you practice Saifa, I watch your footwork first. If the foundation is weak, the technique will fail when you face a real encounter. We do not just mimic movements; we build the structure required to execute powerful strikes and solid blocks.

Kyokushin is often misunderstood as just fighting. It is Atama wa hikuku, me wa takaku (head low, eyes high). It is mental conditioning as much as physical. My practice and teaching rely on the balance between these two states.

The Dojo Environment

At my Koramangala dojo, we strip away the noise. You will not find air conditioning or fancy machines here. You will find mats, heavy bags, and an environment focused on grit. We train in both Zenkutsu (front stance) and Kokutsu (back stance) to ensure your power comes from the ground up, not just your arms.

Why We Drill Kata

Many students want to jump straight to sparring, but without the discipline of kata, your movements will be empty. I use these forms to teach you how to shift your weight, rotate your hips, and generate force that works outside the dojo. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your technique, we start with the basics.

My Approach to Teaching

I treat my students like family because that is how I was taught. Discipline is strict—if you are late, you are not ready—but my support is constant. Whether you are joining for self-defense, fitness, or the philosophy, you are here to build yourself. We train hard because life is hard. Osu.
