About The Heart of Our Dojo: Training & Discipline
We don't just teach moves; we teach the syllabus exactly as it exists in Okinawa today. When you join, you commit to the same Kihon, Kata, and Kumite drills that our instructors train on when they visit Japan annually. It is demanding, it requires focus, and it is the only way to earn your rank.
The Source of Our Training
Authenticity isn't a marketing claim here; it is our daily practice. Every year, I take our senior instructors to Okinawa to train under the masters. We bring back the exact syllabus, with no dilution. If a stance is held a certain way in Japan, that is how it is taught in our Panduranga Nagar dojo.
Kihon, Kata, and Kumite
Your progression relies on three pillars:
- Kihon (Basics): You will drill the fundamentals until they are instinct. Stances, blocks, and strikes are the foundation of everything else.
- Kata (Forms): These are not just routines. They are battle manuals passed down through generations. We focus on power, timing, and memory.
- Kumite (Sparring): Practical self-defense is essential. We practice controlled sparring to ensure you can apply your techniques when it matters.
Why Discipline Matters
You will find students of all ages here, from children to adults. The environment is one of mutual respect. Whether you are aiming for a Black Belt or just starting with your first white belt, the standards remain the same. Expect high-intensity conditioning alongside technique practice. We build strong bodies and quiet minds.
OSK Federation
I started this federation in 1992 with 14 students, and today we are a massive family. I don't just oversee the classes; I personally ensure that every instructor keeps the Okinawan spirit alive in our training.
