Inspiring Future Educators: Hands-on Mentorship

I open my doors to student teachers to bridge the gap between academic theory and the vibrant realities of a play-based classroom.

I was honored to host students from Mount Carmel College who are pursuing degrees in Human Development. Here is a group of them inside our space, ready to explore our learning zones and discuss the importance of early childhood education.

A large group of visiting student teachers from Mount Carmel College. It is so rewarding to share my passion for play-based learning and discuss how we can collectively elevate the standards of early education in India.

A wonderful group photo with the visiting students right outside Knowledge Origin. These collaborations are vital for creating a pipeline of passionate, well-informed educators for the future.

A smaller group of student teachers posing by our "I play, I learn!" wall. These visits provide them with a real-world look at how our philosophy is put into practice every day.

I build, I learn! This is a photo with a fantastic group of interns from Mount Carmel College who spent their summer with us. Providing these hands-on internship opportunities is a key part of my commitment to the teaching community.

About this collection

When I host interns and visiting students from colleges like Mount Carmel, we don't just observe—we get into the thick of it. I walk them through how to set up learning zones that respond to a child’s natural curiosity, turning pedagogical theories into the messy, joyful reality of a working preschool. It is about learning to read a child's signals, not just following a fixed lesson plan.

Bridging Theory and Classroom Reality

Many aspiring educators leave college with a strong grasp of child development theory but feel lost when stepping into a room full of energetic toddlers. My mentorship program is designed to solve that disconnect. Whether you are an intern or a student teacher, you are not here to shadow from a distance; you are here to participate.

What You Will Experience

  • Active Participation: You will help manage our play-based learning zones, seeing firsthand how children interact with materials like LEGO or sensory bins.
  • Pedagogical Application: We take the concepts of the NEP 2021 and show how they look in practice. You will see how we use the 'Six Bricks' method to foster cognitive skills rather than just keeping kids occupied.
  • Real-World Problem Solving: Education is rarely linear. We discuss how to handle classroom dynamics, manage transitions, and support children who learn at different paces.

Why This Matters

I believe the foundation stage is the most critical time in a child's life. By sharing my space and my experiences with the next generation of teachers, I hope to create a ripple effect. We aren't just teaching a curriculum; we are learning how to be present, observant, and responsive educators. If you are looking to move beyond the textbook and understand what early childhood education actually looks like on the ground in a Bengaluru preschool, I would love to have you join us.

I started Knowledge Origin as a parent wanting more for my own child, but my passion for early education grew into a mission to support fellow teachers. I believe the best way to learn is by doing, which is why I’m deeply invested in mentoring the next generation of educators right here in my center.
