Early Numeracy Professional Training for Educators
Move beyond theory and master the art of teaching early math. Join us for hands-on, floor-based training designed for educators who want to make math click for young learners.
A wider view of our early numeracy workshop, showing the informal and collaborative learning environment. With my "I play, I learn!" philosophy as the backdrop, we explore effective strategies for building mathematical foundations.
Movement and song are powerful teaching tools, even for math. Here, educators are learning a number-based action rhyme, a technique I teach to make abstract concepts like counting more concrete and memorable for young children.
In this training session, I am explaining a concept using a presentation while the educators have the physical learning aids right in front of them. This blend of visual instruction and hands-on practice ensures a deep understanding of early numeracy skills.

About this collection
We don't use dry lectures or heavy textbooks. Instead, we gather on the floor to work with dot cards, counting grids, and manipulatives, directly experiencing how these tools translate abstract math into visual play. You will leave with concrete techniques for teaching subitizing and pattern recognition that you can implement in your classroom tomorrow.
Why Hands-On Numeracy Matters
Many of us struggle to teach math because we focus on rote memorization before children have a visual understanding of quantity. In our early numeracy sessions in Yelahanka, we strip away the abstraction. We focus on the "how"—how to use subitizing to help children recognize quantities instantly, how to use patterns to teach spatial reasoning, and how to introduce grids without making it feel like a chore.
What You Will Master
- Subitizing Strategies: Moving beyond counting by ones to help children see groups.
- Tactile Tools: Learning to use dot cards, blocks, and counters as standard teaching aids.
- Classroom Integration: How to blend these activities into your existing daily routine without disrupting your curriculum flow.
Designed for Real Classrooms
This training is not about listening; it is about doing. Whether you are an individual educator or a school team, the environment at our Yelahanka center is built to mimic a real, play-based classroom. We sit on the floor, we use the same materials the children use, and we troubleshoot the common hurdles teachers face, like managing group work or dealing with varying skill levels in a single class.
Available Formats
- Specialized Skill Workshops: 4-6 hour deep dives on specific pedagogies like the Six Bricks method or Early Numeracy.
- Private Institutional Training: Tailored sessions for school teams (up to 10 pax) that can be held at our center or at your own campus across Bengaluru.
If you are ready to stop just explaining math and start helping children 'see' it, these sessions are for you.
Knowledge Origin
I am a parent and educator who believes that if we want children to fall in love with math, we need to teach it with joy, not just textbooks. At my Yelahanka space, I bring teachers together to strip away the fluff and focus on the practical, hands-on techniques that actually work in a real classroom.
