Our Learning Spaces & Events at Knowledge Origin
Our space is more than four walls—it is a carefully crafted environment designed to spark curiosity, host community events, and celebrate every child's learning journey.
Our "Open Display Day" is an event where we showcase the children's learning journey to our community. It’s a celebration of the magic that happens when play and learning come together.
A warm welcome to our Open Display Day, or ODD. The chalkboard art, created by my team, reflects the creative and inviting atmosphere we cultivate in all our programs.
This hand-drawn map guided our visitors through the various learning zones during our Open Display Day. It illustrates the breadth of our curriculum, from science and literacy to art and numeracy.
Our space decorated for Christmas. I believe the physical environment plays a huge role in learning, and my talented team is behind all the beautiful artwork and decor that make our space feel special.
About this collection
When you walk into our Open Display Day, you won't see pristine, store-bought decorations. You will see hand-drawn maps and chalkboard art created by my team that capture the actual work, progress, and messy discoveries our children have made throughout the term. We believe that the environment itself should tell the story of the learning that happens within it.
At Knowledge Origin in Yelahanka, we view our physical space as the 'third teacher.' It is not just a place to hold classes; it is a dynamic, evolving environment that reflects the play-based philosophy we practice every day. Whether it is our festive decor during the holidays or the zones marked out for our Open Display Day (ODD), everything is designed to make learning visible and accessible to both children and parents.
Why Our Space Matters
Our layout supports specific developmental goals. We avoid over-cluttering so that children can focus on the manipulatives in front of them, whether they are using blocks for early numeracy or sorting through nature-inspired crafts. We focus on:
- Visible Learning: We display project-in-progress work, showing the raw process rather than just the polished end result.
- Flexibility: Our floor-based seating and open zones allow us to transition easily from a focused phonics workshop to a collaborative team-building activity.
- Community Connection: Our events, like the Open Display Day, are intentional moments where we invite parents to step into the children's world. It is a time to share the magic of discovery and bridge the gap between classroom theory and home life.
By keeping our environment authentic—sometimes messy, always thoughtful—we create a sense of belonging. This is a space built by parents, for parents, where every corner serves a purpose in helping young humans grow.
Knowledge Origin
I started Knowledge Origin because I wanted a space where kids truly feel free to explore, build, and even make a mess. My team and I design every corner of our Yelahanka center—from our cozy reading nooks to our collaborative learning zones—to be an extension of the play-based philosophy we live by every day.
