Play-Based Educator Training in Bengaluru

I believe we learn best when we are hands-on. This is a look at my workshops where teachers move, build, and explore, gathering the tools to bring joy back into the classroom.

I believe the best learning happens when we are actively engaged. Here, I am guiding a group of passionate educators through a hands-on early numeracy workshop, using tangible materials to explore concepts like subitizing and pattern recognition in a collaborative floor-based setting.

This is a glimpse into our "Six Bricks" teacher training session, led by an expert from SundayBricks. I focus on bringing in specialists to demonstrate how simple tools like LEGO blocks can be used to teach complex concepts and make learning inseparable from play.

Learning phonics should be joyful, not rote. This video shows our educators participating in a phonics training session, using songs and actions like "The snake is in the grass" to internalize letter sounds in a way they can immediately bring back to their classrooms.

My workshops provide practical, ready-to-use resources. This is a close-up of teachers engaging with dot cards and grids, tools we use to build a strong foundation in early numeracy and spatial reasoning for young learners.

I am passionate about inspiring the next generation of educators. In this session, I am presenting my play-based learning philosophy to a large group of student teachers from Mount Carmel College, bridging the gap between educational theory and real-world classroom application.

Professional development is also about nurturing our own creativity. This video captures the energy of a creative workshop for my team, where each teacher designed a unique piece of art, reminding us that to inspire creativity in children, we must first explore it ourselves.

Completing a training session with me is a moment of pride and accomplishment. Here, a group of educators proudly displays their certificates after an intensive early numeracy workshop, equipped with new skills and renewed passion for teaching.

About this collection

Forget sitting in stiff rows of chairs. In my training sessions, we sit on floor mats, just like the children we teach. We work directly with LEGO Duplo sets, dot cards, and phonics flashcards because you cannot truly understand a play-based approach if you are not experiencing the manipulatives yourself. This is a shared space where we build, laugh, and prepare to walk into our classrooms the next day with tools that actually work.

These images represent the core of what we do at Knowledge Origin: bridging the gap between educational theory and real-life classroom application. Whether I am guiding a group of student teachers or conducting a deep-dive numeracy workshop for seasoned educators, the goal remains the same—to simplify complex concepts through play.

Practical Pedagogy

My training focuses on ready-to-use strategies. For phonics, that means swapping rote memorization for multi-sensory actions like the songs and gestures we practice in these sessions. For math, we move past worksheets to subitizing, pattern recognition, and using physical grids to build a number sense that actually clicks for kids.

The 'Six Bricks' Approach

I often partner with specialists for programs like the LEGO Foundation’s 'Six Bricks.' It is incredible to see how six simple blocks can unlock creativity, cognitive development, and problem-solving skills, not just for the children, but for us as teachers who need to keep our own creative spark alive.

A Collaborative Community

If you join one of my sessions at the Yelahanka center, expect to be involved. You will see teachers building, sketching, and problem-solving together. We are not just training; we are building a community of educators who believe that to inspire curiosity in children, we must first remain curious ourselves.

I founded Knowledge Origin because I wanted a space that feels like home, not a formal institution. I am a parent and an educator who believes that if we want to build a curious world for kids, we need to create a space for teachers to play, experiment, and learn without judgment.
