Authentic Homemade Pickles from Our Kitchen

Bring home the taste of traditional Bihar. Our pickles are handmade in small batches using sun-dried ingredients, cold-pressed mustard oil, and no artificial preservatives, just like dadi used to make.

This is my family's special Bharwa Lal Mirch ka Achaar. Each red chilli is carefully stuffed with a masala that I grind at home, using my dadi's secret recipe. It’s the authentic taste of Bihar, made with less oil so you can enjoy the true flavour of the spices.

The journey of my achaar starts with the freshest ingredients. Here you can see me washing raw mangoes, getting them ready for pickling. I believe in the old ways, which means no shortcuts, just pure, clean ingredients for that perfect 'ghar ka swaad'.

This is what Khat Mitthi is all about: "Wahi Maa ke Haath ka Swaad". I started this journey from my home kitchen with my daughters, using the recipes passed down to me. Every jar we pack is filled with that same family love and tradition.

It fills my heart with joy to hear this. A customer shares how my pickles reminded him of his childhood and even got him to love achaar. This is why I do what I do, to bring back those nostalgic flavours.

The soul of my pickles lies in the spices. I never use ready-made masalas. Instead, I source whole spices like mustard seeds, turmeric, and red chilli and grind them myself to ensure the flavour is pure and powerful.

My classic Aam ka Achaar is a bestseller for a reason. I make it just like it's made in our villages, letting the mangoes dry under the sun and pickle slowly in traditional ceramic jars, or 'barnis', to develop that deep, tangy flavour.

Sharing the taste of home is a beautiful gift. I've created these special gift boxes so you can share the love of traditional, homemade achaar with your friends and family during festivals and special occasions.

About Featured

Unlike factory-made pickles, I hand-stuff our red chillies using a spice blend I grind fresh at home. Because we sun-dry everything in small, controlled batches rather than mass-producing, you get the natural crunch of the vegetables and the deep, raw intensity of cold-pressed mustard oil in every single jar.

I grew up with the scent of sun-drying mangoes and red chillies, and that is exactly what I wanted to preserve. My kitchen in Noida is not a factory. When you open a jar of our Bharwa Lal Mirch or Kathal Achar, you are smelling the same spices my dadi used in our home in Bihar. We skip chemical preservatives and artificial colors entirely. Instead, we rely on the natural preservative power of high-quality, cold-pressed mustard oil and the intense heat of the sun. This means our pickles have a distinct, honest texture—the vegetables stay firm rather than turning mushy.

Why our process matters

  • Hand-Ground Masalas: I never use store-bought spice powders. We source whole seeds and grind them, which keeps the oils and the aroma intact.
  • Small Batches: Every jar you order is part of a recent, fresh batch. We do not keep years of inventory.
  • Less Oil, More Flavour: We use just enough mustard oil to preserve the veggies, ensuring you get more of the main ingredient and less grease.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these very spicy? We aim for the traditional 'Khat-Mitthi' balance. While the heat is authentic, it is meant to complement your meal, not overwhelm it.

How should I store them? Since these are preservative-free, always use a clean, dry spoon. Moisture is the enemy. Keep the jar in a cool, dry place and avoid placing it near the stove or in direct sunlight after opening.

What is the shelf life? If stored correctly with a clean spoon, these stay fresh for months. Most customers tell us they finish the jar long before that.
