You do not just sign up for a workshop; you join a circle of fellow seekers. Here, teachers, parents, and professionals come together to find their own voice and share the ancient magic of oral tradition.

The happy faces of my 177th batch at the Kathalaya center. Participants traveled from across the country, and we ended the three days as a renewed, confident, and connected group.

Another shot of the incredible group from my 177th intensive course. This is more than a workshop; it's a space to build a community and revive our collective belief in the power of training.

A group photo from my Masterclass in Gurgaon. It was a transformative 3.5 hours where we learned that being a great storyteller starts with being a great listener.

A small group discussion during the Gurgaon Masterclass. I create intimate settings where participants feel safe to share, ask questions, and learn from each other's experiences.

My certified storyteller, Sriram, engaging children and adults at a Blr Hubba event. It's a joy to see my students take the stage and spread the love for stories in the community.

Certified storyteller Neha in her element at the Blr Hubba festival. My goal is to empower others to become confident performers who can captivate any audience.

Latha, another of my wonderful certified tellers, sharing a story at Blr Hubba. My academy has created a network of passionate storytellers who are keeping this oral tradition alive.

With the lovely team at the Tagore Institute during their 20th-anniversary celebration. It's always a pleasure to reconnect with the communities I've been a part of over the years.

A moment of pure, uninhibited joy during an interactive session at Kahani Box. My sessions are for the young and the young at heart, a space for everyone to play and express themselves.

A beautiful group photo from my Himalayan Writing Retreat. We came as individuals and left as a family, bonded by stories and the majestic mountains.

About A Community of Storytellers

When you enter my workshop, you are not just registering for a class. You become part of a living circle where the barrier between teacher and student dissolves. Participants from diverse backgrounds, from corporate managers to school teachers, sit together, share vulnerabilities, and build lasting bonds through the simple, powerful act of listening to one another.

Storytelling is not an individual performance. It is a shared experience. In my 45 years of practice, I have learned that the most profound shifts happen not when I am speaking, but when the group connects. My workshops, whether at the Kathalaya Center in Bangalore or in a retreat in the Himalayas, focus on this collective energy.

Why Community Matters

We are all elemental by nature. When you join this community, you are stepping into a space designed to help you listen first. You will find people who, like you, are looking for their Anthardhwani—their inner voice. This is why we use circle seating and interactive exercises; it levels the playing field so that everyone, regardless of their profession or background, feels safe to experiment with their vocal tones, gestures, and narratives.

What You Experience

Our community is built on practice, not theory. You will participate in:

  • Active Listening: Learning to hear the stories others carry.
  • Peer Feedback: Gaining confidence by performing in front of a supportive, non-judgmental group.
  • Collaborative Play: Using music, movement, and masks to bring tales to life.

Participants frequently report that they arrive as strangers and leave as family. Whether you are aiming for our certified storytelling program or just want to attend a masterclass to improve your communication skills, you will find a network here that continues long after the workshop ends. We have alumni from across India, from Sambalpur to Delhi, all carrying the same torch. If you are ready to be heard and to listen, there is a place for you in our circle.
