About The Professional Diploma Course
This isn't a quick course. It is a commitment. We begin with a 4-day residential immersion at a space like Fireflies, where we disconnect from the world to focus entirely on your craft. You will not just learn theory; you will work directly with me, Vipin, and Manjusha to integrate puppetry, music, and stage presence into your narratives. Following this, you have six months of supported mentorship where we guide you through your own field work, ensuring you develop a professional practice that is sustainable and authentic.
A Journey of Professional Growth
Many people come to me wanting to know how to 'perform.' But a story is not a performance—it is a connection. In this diploma course, we strip away the noise to get to the core of what makes a story land. Whether you are an educator, a performing artist, or a professional looking to communicate with impact, this program is designed to transform how you exist in the world.
The Three Pillars of Our Training
- Narrative Craft: I personally guide you through story structure, genre selection, and the nuances of documentation, helping you find the structure that best holds your message.
- Sound & Rhythm: Vipin brings his expertise in percussion and music, teaching you how to use sound to create an atmosphere. You will learn to use drums, bells, and vocal modulation to add texture to your tales.
- Visual Expression: Manjusha works with you on puppetry and art. You will learn to create and use puppets kinesthetically, adding a visual dimension that engages audiences on a deeper level.
Why the Mentorship Matters
Certification is a piece of paper, but competence comes from doing. The 6-month mentorship phase is where the real work happens. You will go out into the field—schools, community centers, or your own practice—and we will be there to reflect, critique, and guide you as you apply what you have learned. It is a process of trial and error, laughter, and serious refinement, ensuring you leave with a practice that is entirely your own.
Who This Is For
This is for those who are ready to stop telling stories as a hobby and start living them as a profession. If you are prepared to be vulnerable, to listen as much as you speak, and to put in the time required to master this craft, I invite you to join us in the circle.
Geeta Ramanujam
I have been walking this path of storytelling for 45 years, and it has taught me that a story is only as good as the heart behind it. In this diploma, I work closely with you alongside Vipin and Manjusha to help you move beyond the basics and find the voice that is uniquely yours.
