A beautiful poem written by a 9th-grade student after my 'Aurora' writing retreat. Her words, "Self-awareness bloomed like a flower in spring," capture the essence of what I hope to cultivate in every session: a space for inner light to grow.
This moving poem was written by a 13-year-old student during a session on emotional literacy. It is a powerful reminder that children experience deep feelings and that writing can be a lifeline for expressing the chaos and pain they hold inside.
Feedback like this is the only award I am hungry for. A student from my workshop shares how she overcame her fear of writing and gained confidence, a breakthrough that is a testament to the supportive, non-judgmental environment we create together.

This session tackled one of life's biggest and most difficult themes: death. We created a respectful space for writers to explore mortality, grief, and legacy through fiction, resulting in some truly powerful and moving pieces.35
"Walk a Line in My Shoes" was a session all about empathy and perspective. The prompts challenged us to step into someone else's life and write from a point of view completely different from our own.
The theme "Here You Are" was an exercise in capturing a single, fleeting moment in time. Inspired by the motion-blurred photo, we wrote stories that focused on a critical, life-changing instant.
"In My Defense, I Was There." This intriguing prompt led to stories about perspective, memory, and justification. We wrote from the point of view of characters defending their actions in a pivotal moment.

We celebrate every success in our community. Sangeetha G, who attended our Book Marketing Workshop in 2023, recently published her book 'Drop of the Last Cloud'. We are so proud to have been a part of her journey.4
The numbers speak for themselves. In just one month, 102 writers in our 19th First Draft Club wrote over 415,000 words, raised over Rs. 1,14,000 for Chirag School, and learned from five literary experts.
This is how it started: our 2024 Himalayan Emerging Writers Residency cohort. A group of talented writers selected for a dedicated period of mentorship and focused writing.
And this is how it will end. We look forward to sharing photos of our residents with their newly published books, a testament to the hard work and dedication nurtured during their time with us.
