About The 3-Day Intensive Workshop
This is not a lecture series where you sit and take notes. We sit on the floor, we play with vowel sounds to find your resonance, and we use physical movement to get out of our heads and into our stories. Whether you are a teacher, a parent, or someone just looking to express yourself better, you will leave with the same internationally recognized certification that my professional storytellers hold. We spend three days in a circle, laughing and learning, to ensure you walk away not just with a certificate, but with a toolkit you can use the moment you step out.
The Kathalaya Way
I have been a storyteller for 45 years, and if there is one thing I have learned, it is that everyone has a story waiting to be told. My 3-day intensive workshop is designed to help you peel back the layers of hesitation that keep your voice hidden. We don't just teach you how to speak; we teach you how to listen, observe, and bring narratives to life using your whole body.
What You Will Learn
- The Voice Toolkit: We explore pitch, pace, and pause. You will practice specific vowel exercises to discover tones you didn't know you had.
- Body Language: We use gestures and facial expressions to make your stories visually engaging, even without props.
- Narrative Craft: You will learn how to structure your stories—from storyboarding to script writing—so they captivate your listeners from the first sentence.
- Active Listening: Storytelling is a two-way street. You will learn to hold space for others and truly connect with your audience.
Certification & Path
This course is not just an introduction; it is a foundation. Upon completion, you receive a hard-copy certificate affiliated with the International Storytelling Center (USA) and the Scottish Storytelling Centre (UK). This certification is the first step if you ever decide to pursue my Professional Diploma Course. We keep our batches intimate, ensuring that whether you join us at the Kathalaya Center in BTM Layout or at our sessions across India, you receive my personal guidance and attention throughout the journey.
