About The Craft: From Vision to Fabrication
You aren't just choosing a material, you are investing in a fabrication process. Whether it is a parametric stone wall carved to 25mm depth or a book-matched marble floor, I ensure the CNC machine handles the complex geometry while our artisans manage the sensitive hand-finishing that gives the stone its soul.
My approach starts long before the stone hits the machine. It begins with the moodboard—a collaborative space where we test textures and color swatches to align on your vision. Once the concept is set, we move into technical prototyping. If we are crafting a 3D parametric panel, we produce a 1x1 ft sample to check the depth, shadow play, and finish before we commit to the full slab.
The Kasa Approach to Fabrication
- Precision Meets Soul: I utilize 3-axis CNC routers for the heavy lifting. This allows for intricate profiling, like concave cuts or perfectly mirrored book-matched patterns, which manual labor alone cannot replicate with zero-gap tolerance. However, the machine is just the start.
- The Artisan Touch: After the CNC process, our artisans step in. They hand-sand, carve undercuts, and perform fine detailing that a machine spindle simply cannot reach. This dual-layer approach—technological precision followed by human patience—is what prevents our work from looking like mass-produced factory output.
- Material Integrity: From high-density UHPC for modern concrete panels to Gwalior Mint sandstone and black granite, I let the material dictate the technique. For outdoor facades, we implement back-grooving for mechanical anchoring. For interiors, we ensure levelling is exact, especially where stone meets metal inlay.
Every project is dry-laid in the workshop and numbered before shipping. I don't just send you the raw material; I send a completed puzzle ready for installation. If you are working with an architect, I am happy to coordinate directly with them to ensure our surfaces integrate seamlessly into the broader design.
