Building the Future of Kabaddi
My mission extends beyond the mat to help the next generation of coaches build stronger teams and nurture the true spirit of Kabaddi.
Meeting with the Honorable Union Minister of Sports, Shri Anurag Thakur. I presented a request to facilitate developmental programs to strengthen Kabaddi across the nation, ensuring the sport gets the support it deserves.
With two-time Olympic medalist and badminton champion, PV Sindhu. Her father, P.V. Ramana, and I received the Arjuna Award in the same year, 2000. Connecting with fellow athletes reinforces our shared commitment to Indian sports.
About Building the Future of Kabaddi
Coaching is not just about strategy; it is about creating a culture where discipline thrives alongside talent. In my mentorship sessions, we move beyond the basics to focus on how to manage team dynamics, control aggression under pressure, and prepare players for the realities of national-level selection.
Beyond the Game
My approach to building the future of Kabaddi is rooted in the philosophy of 'pehle Kabaddi, phir sab kuch' (Kabaddi first, everything else later). While I focus on technical skills on the mat, my mentorship for coaches is centered on responsibility, integrity, and the long-term health of our sport.
What We Cover in Mentorship
- Ecosystem Building: I share my experience from working with the All India Council of Sports to help you understand how to organize talent identification and develop players from the grassroots level.
- Leadership and Ethics: Coaching is about modeling behavior. We dive into how to handle player aggression, build team trust, and ensure that your players respect the sport as much as they want to win.
- Strategic Planning: From defensive formations like 5-man setups to analyzing opponent tactics in real-time, I provide a framework for seasonal planning that works for both mud and mat surfaces.
- Technical Corrections: I apply the same scrutiny to your coaching as I did to my own game. We troubleshoot specific player weaknesses, refining posture and movement for better efficiency.
Who This Is For
This mentorship is designed for coaches, academy owners, and team managers who are serious about elevating their impact. Whether you are struggling to manage team discipline or need guidance on navigating the path from club-level representation to national championships, I provide the practical, honest feedback needed to make progress. Kabaddi needs strong leaders to survive and thrive; I am here to help you become one.
