Awards and Recognition for Kabaddi Coaching
From Asian Games gold to the Arjuna Award, these moments define my journey. I bring this same discipline and passion to the coaching I provide in Bangalore.
Holding the Arjuna Award, a symbol of my contribution to Kabaddi. This recognition fuels my passion to give back to the sport and mentor coaches who will continue this legacy of excellence.
This was the moment I received the prestigious Arjuna Award for Kabaddi for the year 2000-2001 from the then President of India, Shri K.R. Narayanan. It is an honor that I hold very close to my heart.
Here I am next to my plaque in the Karnataka Olympic Association's Hall of Fame. Being recognized in my home state is a special honor and a reminder of the journey from my local village to the national stage.
Being felicitated by the Honorable Governor and Chief Minister of Karnataka on National Sports Day. It is always a pleasure to be recognized by the leaders of my state for my contributions to Indian sports.
A look back at the headlines after our victory at the Bangkok '98 Asian Games. This framed newspaper clipping is a constant reminder of what is possible when a team plays with one heart for the 'tiranga'.
This video captures several moments where I was honored for my achievements in Kabaddi. Each award is not just for me, but for every player and coach who has been a part of my journey.

A moment of respect on stage during the felicitation ceremony. These events are important for celebrating our sporting culture and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
About Awards & Recognition
People often ask if awards change how I coach. The truth is, they do not. Whether I am holding a gold medal or standing on a local mud court, the fundamentals of a toe touch or an ankle hold remain the same. My recognition is just proof that consistency and respecting the game actually pay off.
I did not start playing Kabaddi for trophies. I played because I loved the mud, the challenge, and the feeling of giving everything for the team. When I look at these plaques and photos, I see the years of 'sangharsh' (struggle) and the people who helped me get there.
For those of you looking for mentorship, these accolades matter only because they prove that my methods work. They are not just memories; they are the result of discipline, strategic defense, and understanding the psychology of the game—the same skills I teach in my coaching sessions.
Whether you are a junior player just learning to jump with hand support or a coach trying to build a winning culture, the foundation is the same. We focus on:
- Technical Mastery: Refining mechanics like the running hand touch and thigh hold, just as I practiced to reach the national level.
- Discipline & Ethics: Understanding the coach's role as a mentor, not just a trainer. We discuss how to handle pressure without aggression.
- Strategy: Learning how to read the game, from 7-man setups to tactical substitutions.
I am based in Bangalore and work with players and coaches who are serious about the sport. If you are ready to put in the 'mehnat' (hard work) and learn with dedication, I am here to guide you. Let's build a future for Kabaddi together.
