The Art of the Shoot: Behind the Scenes
A photograph is rarely a solo act. It is a symphony of creative minds, lights, and timing. Here is a glimpse into how we build a shot from the ground up.

About The Creative Process: Behind the Scenes
Every shoot I lead relies on a tethered workflow. This means we review images on a high-resolution monitor in real-time, allowing clients to see exactly what I see as we create. My technical team manages the lighting and data on-set, so the decision-making process is immediate and iterative. It removes the guesswork and ensures that by the time we wrap, we have the exact quality and mood the campaign requires.
How We Build a Campaign
Photography at this level is about managing variables. Whether we are in my Lower Parel studio or on location, the goal is to strip away the distractions so the subject and the story can emerge.
The Technical Backbone We shoot using the Fujifilm GFX 100MP system. It is a large-format digital tool that captures incredible detail. Because we shoot tethered, the digital technician, lighting assistants, and I are constantly reviewing the file data. This setup allows for precise light sculpting—using snoots, softboxes, or HMI grip—to define skin texture and contrast before the raw file even hits post-production.
The Collaborative Process I believe the magic happens when ideas bounce around the room. A campaign shoot involves:
- Pre-Production: Developing mood boards and visual stories.
- Lighting Design: Creating specific setups that can transition quickly to keep the shoot's energy high.
- Real-Time Feedback: Clients and stylists see the images as they are captured, ensuring everyone is aligned on the creative direction.
Beyond the Final Image What you see in the gallery is the result of that collaborative hum. It is stylists adjusting hair, assistants shifting flags to catch the light, and a technical team ensuring the assets are managed perfectly. My role is to orchestrate these pieces so that when you see the final hero image, you don't see the complexity—you just see the story.
