About Team Ippon: Community & Competition
We don't just run drills; we spar. Every Saturday, our mats in HSR Layout turn into a training ground where you apply what you have learned. It is controlled, it is safe, and it is the only way to see if your techniques hold up under pressure. If you want to compete, our coaches watch these sessions to spot your potential for local kickboxing and grappling leagues.
At iPPON, competition is the litmus test for our training. We treat grappling tournaments and inter-club championships like graduation days because they provide objective proof that the hard work on the mats translates to real-world results. Our students regularly participate in BJJ and submission wrestling events across Bangalore to test their skills against other academies.
The Training Philosophy
Our approach is simple. You train in small, focused batches where your mistakes are corrected in real-time. We don't believe in generic cardio classes; we believe in functional fitness. You learn striking, grappling, and conditioning, and then you test those systems against your peers in our sparring sessions.
Our Facility
Our HSR Layout studio is a no-frills zone. We provide a dedicated space with 20mm-25mm interlocking EVA foam mats, heavy bags, and the functional equipment you need to build strength. There is no air conditioning, just airflow, sweat, and focused training.
Progression
If you are serious about competing, we offer quarterly plans that include specific competition grooming. This helps you transition from basic techniques to the intermediate combinations required for district and state-level grappling and kickboxing leagues. We are here to push you, but you have to show up and put in the work.
