About Karate
What We Stand For
Martial arts is at the core of everything we do. At Ippon, it's not just about throwing punches or kicks - it's about building real strength, both in your body and your mind. We stick by the idea that hard work, training, and a positive attitude pay off. No shortcuts, just proper effort and results.
How We Teach Karate
We train in Kenyu Ryu Karate, mixing tradition with modern fitness. You’ll learn discipline, self-defense moves, and also get pushed in agility and conditioning. Classes aren’t just routines - we keep things practical so you walk out stronger and sharper.
Who Can Join
- Kids and teens: We focus on basics, confidence, and respect, making sessions lively but structured.
- Adults: Whether you want to get fit, pick up self-defense skills, or just try something new, our training covers it all.
What Training Looks Like
We follow WKF Karate training standards, so every class blends technique and fitness:
- Kihon drills for solid basics
- Kata for balance and focus
- Kumite for controlled sparring
- Conditioning - be ready to sweat!
Competing & Progression
Team Ippon doesn't just train - we compete. We’ve won medals at South India Karate tournaments and encourage anyone keen on tournament preparation. Belt progression is clear and steady, from white to black, and we guide you through each step. The path is tough, but worth it.

My Story
We’re iPPON, and martial arts isn’t just kicks and punches for us. It’s how we live, breathe, grow. Our head coach Ragesh’s journey took him from UFC gyms in Texas to learning from masters everywhere. Still a student, always. Nothing beats watching our folks—kids, adults—walk taller, win medals, and cheer each other on. Team iPPON in HSR isn’t just a gym, it’s our squad, our family.
