There is something special about seeing a mother and child in matching outfits. I design coordinated looks that bring out your shared style, from playful everyday wear to elegant traditional ensembles.
This is what pure joy looks like. I designed these matching hot pink jumpsuits for a mother and her daughter, perfect for a fun evening out. Creating these twinning moments is one of my favorite things to do.
For this new mother, I created a matching patola print traditional suit for her and her baby. The mother's kurta is a comfortable maternity dress with discreet zippers for easy nursing.
Here, I've transformed a mother's precious purple Banarasi saree into two beautiful, matching dresses for her and her daughter. It’s a wonderful way to upcycle a cherished memory into something new.
About Mother & Child Twinning
Designing for a child and an adult requires balancing comfort with style. I select different fabric weights to ensure the little one stays cool while your outfit maintains its shape, and I adapt design elements like sleeve ruffles or borders to suit each age appropriately rather than just shrinking a pattern.
Stitching Memories Together
For me, twinning isn't just about wearing the same colour. It is a way to celebrate the bond you share with your little one. Whether you want to recreate a festive look from a family heirloom or create something entirely new, I focus on the details that make the outfit wearable.
The Process of Twinning
When we plan a mother-daughter set, we start by looking at the occasion. A casual garden party needs breathable cottons, while a wedding function calls for richer fabrics like brocade or silk.
- Upcycling Your Sarees: One of my favorite services is transforming your old sarees into matching outfits. That Banarasi saree sitting in your cupboard can become a beautiful lehenga for your daughter and a matching kurta or skirt set for you. It keeps the tradition alive and makes the outfit personal.
- Practicality for Moms: I know that being a mother means you are always on the go. If you are an expecting or new mother, I can incorporate hidden zippers into your nursing-friendly ethnic wear, ensuring you can feed your baby comfortably without compromising on the style of your twinning set.
- Fit and Comfort: I do not use standard sizing. Every piece is measured to your specific body type. For children, I focus on soft linings and avoiding harsh embellishments near the skin, so they can run around and play while looking dressed up.
