Luxury Retail and Showroom Lighting Design
Retail lighting defines how a customer perceives your brand. I sculpt environments using light to guide the eye toward your products, blending technical precision with atmospheric design to create a lasting impact.
This video showcases the Divani flagship store, where lighting is used to evoke a sense of heritage and luxury. I used focused spotlights to highlight the intricate zardozi work on the garments and a grand chandelier to create a regal atmosphere that honors the brand's cultural legacy.
A video tour of a modern salon where the lighting design is crucial for both function and ambiance. I implemented a mix of geometric ceiling fixtures for general brightness, backlit mirrors for perfect task lighting at each station, and warm accent lights in the waiting and pedicure areas for relaxation.
In the Fima showroom, the lighting is designed to be dramatic and bold. I used concealed linear lights to trace the curves of the slatted walls, creating a captivating play of light and shadow that draws customers in. The vibrant red ceiling is intentionally left dark to enhance the moody, focused atmosphere.
Another perspective of the Fima studio, highlighting how the curved architectural elements are accentuated with light. The design uses darkness as a canvas, with light carefully painted on to guide the eye and feature the displayed products in an artistic, gallery-like setting.
A glimpse into a high-end tile studio where lighting is key to appreciating texture and color. I used adjustable track lighting to provide flexible, high-quality illumination on the displays, ensuring clients can see the true character of the materials.
This premium jewellery display section required a specialized lighting solution. I specified tunable magnetic track lighting over the counters, allowing for precise control over the color temperature and intensity to make different gemstones and metals sparkle perfectly.
For this tile sampling area at La Casa Decor, a wall grazer fixture was installed. This technique casts light down the wall at a sharp angle, revealing the subtle textures and finishes of the tile samples, which is critical for client decision making.

When I approach a showroom project, whether it is a flagship store like Divani or a technical studio like Fima, my goal is to make the space speak for the brand. Light is the jewellery of architecture; it is not merely a utility, but the element that defines the quality of what is on display.
My Technical Approach
- Wall Grazing for Texture: To showcase material finishes—like the tiles at La Casa Decor—I utilize wall-grazing techniques. By casting light at a sharp angle, I reveal the subtle depth and character of surfaces that flat lighting would hide.
- Color Accuracy: For high-end retail, I specify fixtures with a high Color Rendering Index (CRI >90). This ensures that gemstones, Zardozi embroidery, or textured fabrics appear exactly as they were intended, regardless of the ambient time of day.
- Dynamic Environments: I integrate tunable white systems. This allows a showroom to shift its atmosphere. A space can feel vibrant and energetic during the day with cooler light, then transition to an intimate, warmer tone for evening events or private viewings.
Designing for the Brand Journey
Retail spaces are often defined by their constraints. At the Fima studio, I used darkness as a canvas, allowing the light to trace curves and architectural lines, creating a gallery-like setting. In every project, I balance ambient lighting with precise accent spots. This layering creates a visual hierarchy, ensuring the customer’s eye lands exactly where the brand narrative is strongest. My process begins with detailed simulations and circuit planning to ensure the design remains consistent from the initial concept to the final installation.
