The Upstox Workspace: Vibrant Design Meets Functionality
When we designed the Upstox office, we didn't just want a workspace; we wanted a living environment that mirrors the company's energy. From the flexible amphitheater to the biophilic seating nooks, here is how we balanced sharp function with a warm, soul-led design.
We designed this amphitheater to be a truly versatile hub. It's perfect for large town halls and projection screenings, but the loose furniture allows it to be easily reconfigured for smaller brainstorming sessions or casual work.
The custom wall graphic injects a burst of energy into this collaborative space. Paired with comfortable, modular seating, it creates an inviting atmosphere that encourages interaction and creativity among the UPSTOX team.
The pantry area is designed with two distinct moods. One side is soothing and calm for quiet breaks, while the other features this "Up"beat custom wallpaper, reflecting the brand's identity and adding a playful touch to the workspace.
These seating niches provide semi-private spots for work or leisure. We used raw hollow bricks filled with cement for texture, and the overhead wire mesh will eventually be draped in plants, enhancing the biophilic and industrial feel.
This view shows how we integrated different zones within the common area. The seating niches offer a cozy alternative to open tables, providing employees with a choice of environments depending on their task or mood.
The pantry's design proves that simple materials can create a big impact. We combined hollow bricks, black granite, and earthy beige tiles to craft a serene and highly functional kitchen space for the office.
About this collection
Designing for a fast-paced fintech team meant creating a space that adapts as quickly as they do. We built these seating niches using raw hollow bricks filled with cement and topped with wire mesh, specifically to give the team semi-private pockets for quick syncs or solo focus, all while leaving room for creeping plants to grow and soften the industrial frame over time.
A Workspace That Works Hard
The brief was to mirror the energy of a fintech giant without losing the human-centric warmth we love at House of Ruya. We steered clear of sterile, generic corporate aesthetics, opting instead for a blend of industrial rawness and thoughtful biophilia.
The Amphitheater & Flow
The heart of the office is this versatile amphitheater. Instead of static conference rooms, we prioritized a space that shifts from a town-hall venue to an informal breakout zone. We used loose, movable furniture to keep the layout fluid, ensuring the team can reconfigure the area for brainstorming or screenings without a fuss.
Material Story & Brand Integration
We used terracotta hollow bricks as a structural element in the pantry and seating zones, anchoring the space with an earthy, rooted texture. Pairing this with custom wall graphics—which carry the 'Up'beat brand identity—created a visual language that feels energetic yet grounded. It is how we ensure branding feels woven into the office, rather than just plastered on a wall.
Biophilic Design
Plants are not just decor here. We utilized wire mesh overhead structures in the common areas, designed specifically to support hanging greenery. This brings an organic layer to the industrial ducting and exposed ceilings, ensuring that even in the middle of a high-tech workday, the space feels breathable and fresh.
Function First
Whether it is the granite-topped pantry or the semi-private seating niches, every square foot was planned to support diverse work styles. This is how we ensure design does not just look good on day one, but works hard for your team for years to come.
