About Hip-Hop Dance Classes
Why Hip-Hop With Me
I’m Hemanth, but most folks call me HE-Mantis. For me, hip-hop is more than just steps - it’s about finding your own groove and building a community. I keep it real, and I want you to do the same. If you’re looking for a place to just copy moves, this isn’t it. Here, we work on control, strength, and clean technique first.
What Happens In Class
- We start with basics. Footwork drills like Two-Step Bounce and Heel Slide Glide are our bread and butter. If your moves feel messy, don’t worry - we’ll fix that together.
- Strength and conditioning is a must. Expect lunges, single-leg balancing, and exercises that help you move with power.
- Floorwork is part of the mix, so get ready to get low.
- Once you’ve got the foundation, we jump into choreography. Sometimes it’s classic hip-hop, sometimes it’s Kannada hip-hop choreography. Sync, formations, and performance quality matter here.
- Freestyle hip-hop techniques are a big deal. I’ll show you how to listen to the beat, warm up for a cypher, and add your own style.
Who’s This For?
Classes are for adults. Beginners, folks wanting to clean up technique, or anyone just wanting to vibe - you’ll fit in. The energy is chill, and we learn together. Namma Bengaluru style.
My Experience
I battle, I compete, and I bring that energy to every class. You’ll get the real stuff, not just the shiny bits.

My Story
Yo, I'm Hemanth, but folks call me HE-Mantis. Born and raised Tumkur boy, now repping Bengaluru. Started Bangalore Dance Studio to bring more people into hiphop - this city’s got mad energy. My crew, Bangalore Hustlers, they’re my brothers, not just teammates. We battle, we mess up, we grow, we win, repeat. Sometimes I’m back in Tumkur, judging or just jamming - for me, it’s all about the vibe, the love for dance.
