About Vrat ka Khana (Fasting Meals)

Fasting doesn’t mean you have to settle for bland food. For my Vrat thalis, I strictly avoid onion, garlic, and non-permitted grains, relying instead on pure ghee, sendha namak, and fresh, seasonal produce. Whether it’s fluffy Sabudana Khichdi or crispy Farali Kachori, everything is made from scratch in my Matunga kitchen, exactly as I prepare it for my own family.

When you are observing a fast, you want food that is not only permissible but also comforting and nourishing. My Vrat ka Khana is born from years of family tradition, where I focus on quality ingredients and correct preparation methods.

Why my Vrat meals feel like home

  • Strict Purity: I use zero preservatives, no artificial colours, and absolutely no onion or garlic. All frying is done in clean, fresh oil, and sweets are made in pure ghee.
  • Traditional Variety: From the classic Sabudana Khichdi and Upvas Thalipeeth to Rajgira Puri and Ratali (sweet potato) Kheer, I try to bring variety to your fast so it feels like a wholesome meal rather than a restriction.
  • Freshly Cooked: I do not bulk cook or store meals. I plan my sourcing based on the orders I receive, which is why I require bookings at least one day in advance.

Ordering Information

To maintain the 'ghar ka khaana' standard, I limit myself to 35 lunch orders daily. This ensures that every tray—whether it is a simple Khichdi or a complete Ashtami thali—gets the personal attention it deserves. Because I am a home kitchen and not a large-scale commercial caterer, I cannot accommodate last-minute orders on the day of delivery. Please message me a day before to confirm your meal.
