Functional Public Plazas and Community Spaces

Our approach to public plaza design is grounded in the reality of urban use. A successful space needs to survive heavy foot traffic while still feeling like a place where people actually want to stop and sit.

We focus on these key elements:

Heavy-Duty Hardscaping

We use 3-4 inch thick natural stone slabs, like Sadarahalli Granite or Basalt, with anti-skid finishes. This ensures safety during the monsoon months and durability for years. We design custom cast-in-situ concrete benches that don't just look part of the landscape but are built to handle constant use.

Native Urban Planting

Instead of high-maintenance ornamental plants, we install semi-mature native trees with a minimum girth of 6-8 inches. This provides immediate shade and ecological value. By planting hardy ground covers in designated pits, we keep the space green without needing excessive water or constant maintenance.

Site Engineering

Beauty fails if the site floods. We prioritize gradient planning with slit or saucer drains to manage heavy monsoon runoff effectively. By installing root barriers, we protect the paving and underground utilities, ensuring the hardscape doesn't crack or lift as the trees mature.

Collaborative Design

Every plaza is a team effort. We work closely with architects and city planners to ensure the landscape integrates perfectly with the built structures. Whether it is a busy commercial plaza like our project in BKC or a smaller neighbourhood square, our goal is to create spaces that grow more beautiful with every season.
