About Awards & Recognition
These awards from ISOLA and India Design ID represent the collective effort between myself, the architects I collaborate with, and the local teams who bring these designs to life. It is gratifying to have my approach to native landscapes recognized on these platforms, but the true reward remains in seeing these spaces function well for the people who use them every day.
While accolades are wonderful, they act as a reflection of the core philosophy behind Hemali Landscape Studio. Being recognized by Architectural Digest as one of India's 'plant whisperers' highlights the shift toward putting nature at the forefront of design rather than treating it as an afterthought.
My work with the BKC Plaza, which received a commendation from the Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA), was a challenge in integrating public infrastructure with green space. The goal was to create a place that people could actually sit in and enjoy, rather than just a visual corridor. Similarly, receiving honors from India Design ID for two consecutive years (2024 and 2025) validates the use of local materials like Jodhpur stone and native planting palettes, proving that regional ecology belongs in modern city planning.
I treat every project—whether it is an institutional campus or a small urban pocket—as an opportunity to prove that concrete and greenery can coexist. My process is always hands-on, working closely with farmers and material suppliers to ensure that the landscape is sustainable and rooted in its specific biome. If you are looking for a design that grows and matures with the seasons rather than one that looks perfect on day one and fades, let us talk about how we can build your space together.
