About The Artist's Process

Every intricate design you see here requires a steady hand and significant patience. For bridal portraits or detailed skyline motifs, please expect a 5 to 8-hour sitting. We use 100% natural Sojat henna mixed with eucalyptus or lavender oils to ensure the best possible stain. Because this process is time-intensive, I recommend booking your session well in advance to ensure we have the space to capture every detail of your story.

The Journey from Sketch to Stain

I treat every hand as a canvas and every story as art. My process is built around patience, devotion, and the quality of materials. When you book a session with me, you are not just getting a pattern; you are getting a narrative.

My Application Process

  1. Conceptualization: We start with a consultation. Whether it is a portrait, a skyline like the Worli Seaface, or an inside joke, I map this out on paper first. This helps us ensure the scale is right before we start.
  2. The Henna Mix: I exclusively use 100% natural Sojat henna. It is free from harsh chemicals, providing a deep, rich stain. I mix it with eucalyptus or lavender oils to enhance the scent and the setting time.
  3. Precision Work: Whether I am creating bold negative space for grooms or dense Jali patterns for a bride, I use high-flow cones to ensure micro-details are clear. For complex figures like deities or family portraits, I focus on shading and layers to build depth.
  4. Aftercare: The art does not end when I pack my cones. I apply a lemon-sugar sealant to lock the henna in place, and I always advise my clients on how to care for the stain so it remains vibrant for your wedding day.

Why the Timeline Matters

As I often say, Saiyami vichre sidhina shikhre—restraint and devotion lead to success. If you are looking for an intricate bridal portrait or a full storytelling piece, these designs are not rushed. A full bridal package with realistic portraits and milestones takes 5 to 6 hours, while my Royal Life Journey package can exceed 8 hours. Planning your event schedule to include this time is key to a stress-free experience.
