Hands-on Montessori Learning Materials
Discover our collection of scientifically designed materials that turn abstract concepts into tangible experiences, allowing children to learn by doing.
This video offers a glimpse into our geometry section. You can see the Geometric Cabinet, Constructive Triangles, and other materials that allow children to physically explore shapes and their properties, laying a foundation for abstract concepts.
The Little Lock Box is a favorite for developing fine motor skills and problem-solving. It features various real-world locks and latches, giving children a satisfying challenge that enhances their hand-eye coordination and practical life skills.
This is the Moveable Alphabet, with vowels in blue and consonants in pink. It allows children to build words phonetically even before their hands are ready to write, making the process of learning to read and write intuitive and enjoyable.
A closer look at the cursive Moveable Alphabet letters. Working with these tactile letters helps children internalize the shape and sound of each character, a key step in our language curriculum.
The Coloured Bead Bars are a beautiful and concrete representation of numbers. Children learn to count, associate quantity with symbols, and perform basic arithmetic by physically manipulating these beads, making math tangible and clear.
Our hanging bead stair is a fundamental part of the Montessori math curriculum. It provides a visual and tactile way for children to understand the decimal system and the relationships between numbers from one to ten.
These are the Colour Tablets, a sensorial material used to refine a child's perception of color. Children learn to grade shades from dark to light, developing their visual discrimination skills and an appreciation for the nuances of color.
A child's view of the Colour Tablets, neatly arranged in their wooden box. This material isolates the quality of color, helping children to focus their attention and develop a sophisticated chromatic sense.
Our collection of wooden animals brings the study of zoology to life. Children can hold and examine the figures of a giraffe, tiger, and rhinoceros, learning their names and characteristics in a hands-on, engaging way.
These miniature flags introduce children to the world of geography and culture. They learn to recognize the flags of different nations, including India, sparking curiosity about other countries and peoples.
About Our Montessori Materials
These materials are not just toys; they are carefully designed keys to unlocking concepts. Whether it is the Coloured Bead Bars for math or the Moveable Alphabet for language, your child is free to touch, move, and repeat their work until they fully grasp the idea. We step back and observe, letting them build their own understanding at their own pace, without the pressure of rote correction.
At Hastam, we select our materials with intention. We use premium Nienhuis and Kido tools because they are designed to isolate specific skills—like the Knobbed Cylinders for visual discrimination or the sandpaper letters for sensory language acquisition.
Learning, Not Memorization
Rote learning tells a child the answer. Our materials guide the child to find the answer. When a child works with the Coloured Bead Bars, they aren't memorizing multiplication tables. They are physically building the quantity of four, three times over, seeing the result in their hands. This creates a concrete foundation for abstract concepts that lasts far longer than any worksheet.
The Lab Environment
Our 5,500 sq ft space in Talaghattapura, off Kanakapura Road, is a laboratory for discovery. We run single 3-hour morning slots that mimic a natural work cycle. Your child can explore Practical Life stations like our Little Lock Box, or move to advanced Math and Geography materials without feeling rushed.
We believe that if you give a child the right tools and the freedom to work at their own pace, they will find their own way to learn. Whether you are homeschooling and need access to specialized gear, or you simply want a space where your child can get messy and curious, our lab is open to support your journey.
