Why We Do What We Do
At Hastam Montessori, I believe kids learn best when their hands are busy and their minds are free. Hastam means 'hand' in Sanskrit, and that’s always been our guiding light. I don’t see kids as empty vessels to fill up - each one is a unique flower, and my job is to make sure the space helps them bloom, no rush, no pressure.
What Summer Looks Like Here
This isn’t your regular camp with worksheets or rote learning. I set up the environment so kids can follow their own interests. Some days, they’ll spend ages lost in a creative mess or a science experiment, just because they want to. Play isn’t a break from learning - it’s the real work.
How Kids Spend Their Days
- Creative arts like Warli painting, origami, and even candle and soap making.
- Trying out real carpentry tools or mixing up dough for baking - nothing plastic, all real.
- Kids Yoga, wild science experiments, and stories that pull them in.
- Loads of sensory play activities and nature-based crafts, especially in our terrace garden with snails and birds.

Our 5500 sqft campus has indoor rooms with beautiful materials, a climbing wall for big energy, and a garden for child-led exploration. I’ve set it up so kids feel safe, free, and excited to learn on their own terms.

My Story
We’re Hastam Montessori. 'Hastam' means hand - you’ll spot it on our gate, in Kannada too. That word shapes everything we do. Kids here get messy, curious, sometimes spend hours on one project, just exploring. It’s not about ticking boxes, it’s about letting creativity flow. We make our own learning stuff, like sandpaper letters. Seeing kids help each other, alumni coming back for siblings - that’s when we know, this place is more than school. It’s home, with respect and warmth.
My Work
Montessori Programs for Kids & Adults - We run preschool for 2-6 yrs, Montessori homeschooling kits, Learner’s Lab, summer camps, and Diploma training.
Child-Led, Mixed-Age Classrooms - Kids choose what to work on, learn at their own pace, and mix with different ages. It’s real Montessori.
Hands-On Learning, Not Just Memory - No rote stuff. Kids use Coloured Bead Bars for multiplication, pound spices, open lock boxes - learning by doing.
Campus Full of Discovery - We’ve got a climbing wall, garden for little harvests, and nature-watching. Learning happens everywhere here.
Gentle Beginning for New Kids - First days are soft. Parents stay close, helping kids settle in with trust and comfort. No rush.
