About Montessori Preschool Program
Why We Do What We Do
At Hastam Montessori, I believe kids learn best when their hands get busy. "Hastam" is Sanskrit for "hand" - that's our vibe. Young children are all about exploring, not just sitting and listening. If they're messing around with real stuff, that learning actually sticks.
What Happens Here
I don’t do the usual teaching style. Here, I guide kids aged 2 to 6, giving them space to follow their interests. No forcing, no rushing. If a child gets obsessed with pouring water or building towers, I let them. That’s how they figure things out for themselves.
- Our classroom is set up so everything's at kid-height, easy to reach and choose.
- Activities cover practical life (think pouring, cleaning, snack prep), sensory play (Pink Tower, Knobless Cylinders), language (sandpaper letters), math (beads, counting), culture and geometry (maps, shapes).
- Every day is about hands-on learning for preschoolers.
All Ages, All Together
Kids of different ages share one space. The older ones help out the younger - it’s not forced, it just happens. It’s a mixed-age Montessori group, and honestly, it’s amazing watching them learn empathy and leadership naturally.
Gentle Start, Natural Setting
Starting preschool is tough, so I let parents hang out those first days. The campus is safe and has a green vibe - terrace garden, sunbirds, snails, and a play area with a climbing wall and trampoline. It’s homely, not stiff.
Real Talk
The Montessori classroom environment isn’t for every family. If you want strict schedules or heavy academics, this isn’t it. But if you like the idea of self-directed preschool activities and practical life skills for children, you’ll probably feel at home here.

Hastam Montessori
My Story
We’re Hastam Montessori. 'Hastam' means hand - you’ll spot it on our gate, in Kannada too. That word shapes everything we do. Kids here get messy, curious, sometimes spend hours on one project, just exploring. It’s not about ticking boxes, it’s about letting creativity flow. We make our own learning stuff, like sandpaper letters. Seeing kids help each other, alumni coming back for siblings - that’s when we know, this place is more than school. It’s home, with respect and warmth.
My Work
Montessori Programs for Kids & Adults - We run preschool for 2-6 yrs, Montessori homeschooling kits, Learner’s Lab, summer camps, and Diploma training.
Child-Led, Mixed-Age Classrooms - Kids choose what to work on, learn at their own pace, and mix with different ages. It’s real Montessori.
Hands-On Learning, Not Just Memory - No rote stuff. Kids use Coloured Bead Bars for multiplication, pound spices, open lock boxes - learning by doing.
Campus Full of Discovery - We’ve got a climbing wall, garden for little harvests, and nature-watching. Learning happens everywhere here.
Gentle Beginning for New Kids - First days are soft. Parents stay close, helping kids settle in with trust and comfort. No rush.
