Why We Go Outdoors

When you paint inside a studio, you have control. The light is constant, the environment is predictable. Taking our classes outdoors into the 'plein air' is our way of testing those skills. We want you to feel the difference between painting a photograph and painting a living, breathing landscape. It forces you to make quick decisions, manage your colour palette efficiently, and capture the 'vibe' of a place before the light changes.

Who This Is For

Our tours are not just for the advanced students. We take everyone. You will see our toddlers learning about textures near trees, our intermediate students tackling perspective in a park, and our senior citizens finding peace in a landscape session. It is a shared experience. Seeing a 70-year-old student and a 10-year-old child painting the same tree from different perspectives is exactly the kind of community we build at Grahin.

What You Learn

• Live Observation: We move away from copying from books. You learn to sketch what you actually see.
• Landscape Techniques: Dealing with water, foliage, and distant structures (like the hills in Karjat or architecture in the city).
• Speed and Efficiency: You learn to work fast, which is crucial for exam prep and developing your own artistic style.
