About Creative Heritage Crafts for Adults
You will need to bring your own sentimental fabric—think an old silk saree, a father’s kurta, or a shawl—to the workshop. We provide all the utility materials like needles, threads, and scissors, so you only need to focus on cutting, stitching, and sharing the stories behind the pieces you choose.
Our heritage craft workshops are less about technical perfection and more about the connection we build with our past. We structure this as a 3-day series, with two hours per session, to give everyone enough time to work at a comfortable pace. This format allows you to engage with the process of repurposing fabrics without feeling rushed.
We keep our group sizes small to ensure everyone has space to share stories about their fabric pieces. You will learn the basics of pattern cutting and stitching, but the real work happens in the circle. It is a time for coffee, conversation, and community. Whether you are an experienced sewer or picking up a needle for the first time, our goal is for you to walk away with a functional keepsake that preserves your family history.
We host these sessions at our Jayanagar classroom. It is a casual, floor-seating environment designed to remove the hierarchy of a formal classroom. We believe that adults, much like children, learn best in an environment where they feel relaxed and supported.
