Our Montessori Philosophy in Action
At Glow'N'Glitter, we believe that education is about more than just a syllabus. It is about preparing a respectful environment where a child's natural curiosity can lead the way.
This image explains key principles of a Montessori environment, which is the foundation of my work. Whether in a workshop for adults or a session with children, I focus on creating an orderly, accessible, and happy space where everyone feels empowered to explore and learn at their own pace.
About Our Montessori Philosophy
You might wonder why we prioritize the 'prepared environment' over traditional classroom setups. It is because children need order and independence to truly focus. In our Jayanagar space, we set up materials at their eye level so they can choose their work, follow their interests, and build concentration without us hovering over them.
The 'Show, Don't Tell' Approach
In our workshops and preschool sessions, we avoid simply telling a child what to do. We demonstrate, we guide, and then we step back. This simple shift allows a child to learn through their own discoveries. When a child learns to pour water without spilling or finishes a puzzle independently, they are not just developing motor skills. They are building the confidence to trust their own mind.
Why the Environment Matters
Everything in our Jayanagar 9th Block space has a purpose. We arrange our classrooms to encourage movement and discovery. By using tactile materials rather than abstract worksheets, we help children ground their learning in reality. Whether they are sorting, counting, or working with nature, the environment acts as a teacher itself.
Culture as Part of Learning
For us, culture is not a separate lesson. It is home. We celebrate festivals like Onam and Dussehra because traditions give children a sense of belonging and community. We want our little ones to understand their roots as much as they understand their numbers.
Bringing Parents Together
Montessori is not just for the classroom. Our parent community is a huge part of our philosophy. Whether we are discussing nutrition over coffee or sharing storytelling tips, we want you to feel supported. Parenting is a journey, and we believe it is one that should be shared with patience, love, and community support.
