Training Philosophy
At GETHNAA, we believe self-defense is a life skill that requires muscle memory and discipline. Our training is entirely hands-on. You will not just watch demonstrations; you will perform them. Our instructors break down complex movements into simple, repeatable drills that focus on vital points and defensive positioning.
What to Expect
We run two primary formats:
- Monthly Group Training: Held 3 days a week at our State Youth Centre facility, these 60 to 90-minute sessions are designed for conditioning and consistency. We use drill-sergeant style commands to build stamina and cover core combat skills like punches, elbows, and choke defenses.
- Certified Intensive Workshops: These 8-hour weekend crash courses are designed for those needing a quick, comprehensive skillset. We cover situational awareness, how to use improvised weapons, and tactical scenarios like bag snatching or being cornered.
Our Venue
Our primary training ground is the State Youth Centre on Nruphatunga Road. It is a semi-outdoor stadium facility, meaning you get the benefit of natural ventilation while training on safe, interlocking EVA foam mats designed to absorb impact during takedown practice.
Certification
All our participants in the intensive workshops receive an official participation certificate from the General Thimayya National Academy of Adventure. This program is suitable for individuals, groups, or institutions looking to empower their teams with foundational safety skills.
