About Gut, Set, Go!: My Nutrition Journal for Kids
Most parents struggle to get kids to eat broccoli without a negotiation. This journal changes that dynamic by handing control back to the child. Through simple, illustrated exercises, your little one learns to track their own meals, understand why the 'good bacteria' in curd actually helps, and get excited about school lunchboxes that aren't just beige.
As a clinical nutritionist, I realized the biggest barrier to kids' nutrition wasn't the food itself, but the lack of engagement. We treat nutrition as a lecture when it should be a lesson in autonomy. This journal, Gut, Set, Go!, was born from my own journey of trying to get my son to understand why he needs fiber and protein, rather than just forcing it on his plate.
Inside, you will find a framework that makes healthy eating an activity rather than a punishment. We cover everything from decoding food labels to simple, tasty swaps. For example, my 'Alt Malt' recipe featured in the journal replaces those sugar-loaded, store-bought drink mixes with nutrient-dense ingredients that actually support bone and brain health. Whether you are dealing with picky eating, school lunchbox fatigue, or just wanting to start them young on gut health, this tool is meant to take the pressure off you and empower them. It is not about perfect eating; it is about building a foundation of food literacy and confidence. If you want to dive deeper into pediatric nutrition or need specific guidance for your child’s diet, I am here to help you move past the stress and into a rhythm that works for your family.
