Biophilic Design & Indoor-Outdoor Spaces
Blurring the lines between your home and nature, we design courtyards and garden nooks that bring the outdoors right into your daily living space.
This internal courtyard within a Lonavala bungalow is a prime example of our biophilic design philosophy. By placing a garden with bamboo and natural stone at the center of the home, we create a living, breathing feature that provides light, tranquility, and a constant connection to nature.
About Biophilic & Indoor-Outdoor Spaces
The courtyard you see in our Kune Village bungalow project is a perfect example of our approach. We built this garden with bamboo and natural stone at the center of the home to bring light and tranquility right into the living area, effectively creating a living feature that connects the indoors to the outside.
We believe your home should act as a sanctuary. In our Kune Village bungalow project in Lonavala, the client wanted a weekend home that felt distinct from their busy city life. By integrating a central internal courtyard, we improved the natural light circulation and provided a constant visual connection to nature.
Biophilic design is not just about placing plants in pots. It is about how the architecture interacts with the natural environment. We look at site orientation, wind flow, and local climate patterns before placing a single element. For example, in urban Navi Mumbai apartments, we frequently use vertical green walls or bamboo nooks to block harsh direct sun and reduce dust, while creating a soft privacy screen.
When we design these indoor-outdoor spaces, we prioritize:
- Structural Feasibility: Ensuring waterproofing and drainage are addressed before the greenery goes in.
- Low-Maintenance Greenery: Selecting species like Areca Palms or Dracaena that thrive in semi-shaded conditions.
- Material Integration: Using natural stone, wood-finish planks, or geometric tiles to ground the space.
Whether you have a sprawling bungalow or a compact apartment terrace, we can map out a way to bring nature closer to your daily routine.
