At Eka, we believe play is the serious work of the child. Here is a look at how we combine curiosity with the Montessori method to create confident, independent learners.

This is what learning looks like at Eka. We believe that play is the serious work of the child. Whether they are balancing logs, drawing in the sand, or creating music with twigs, they are building independence, imagination, and a deep love for discovery in our child-led learning environment.

Learning isn't confined to our classroom walls. We take children on exciting field trips, like this visit to a local fire station. These real-world experiences are incredibly enriching, teaching them about community helpers and how the world works in a way they'll remember for a lifetime.

We connect children to their culture through hands-on celebration. For Ganesh Chaturthi, our little ones experienced the joy of making their own Ganesha idols from clay. This process of creating, decorating, and celebrating together makes learning about traditions meaningful and fun.

Independence is a cornerstone of the Montessori method, and mealtime is a perfect opportunity to practice it. Our children learn to serve their own food, make their own choices, and even wash their own dishes. It's a delight to watch them build confidence and practical life skills every day.

Our community is our family. We were so happy to host a special day for grandparents, filling our school with stories, laughter, and love. Involving family is central to our approach, creating a warm, supportive network for every child to thrive in.

Creativity flows freely on our Big Picture Day. We provide a large canvas and a variety of materials, then step back to let the children's imaginations take over. Every stroke tells a story, showcasing their unique ideas and collaborative spirit through process art.

We encourage children to reach new heights, both literally and figuratively. Our indoor climbing wall is a favorite spot where they build physical strength, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence with every step. It's a safe space for them to challenge themselves and discover their capabilities.

Seeing our children graduate is a moment of immense pride. They walk out of Eka as confident, independent, and compassionate individuals, ready for the next step in their journey. This celebration marks not just an end, but the beautiful beginning of a lifetime of learning.

About Featured

You will notice that our children are often the ones leading the way. Whether they are washing their own plates after a meal, navigating our indoor climbing wall, or exploring a real fire engine on a field trip, we prioritize real-world actions over abstract theory. We avoid rote learning, choosing instead to let them touch, move, and solve problems at their own pace in a structured, safe environment.

We have spent 11 years refining our approach in Kumarapark West, creating a 'prepared environment' where children have the freedom to choose activities that genuinely spark their interest. You will see this in our classrooms, which are stocked with authentic Montessori materials designed to build fine motor skills, mathematical thinking, and self-reliance. Our 1:6 teacher-student ratio allows us to support this individual growth, ensuring every child receives personal attention.

We emphasize practical life skills that many schools overlook. From our 'Chef Day' where toddlers prepare their own snacks to our vertical age grouping where older children guide younger ones, every routine is a lesson in independence. We also believe that learning should not stop at the school gate, which is why our field trips and cultural festivals—like making eco-friendly Ganesha idols—are central to our curriculum. Our goal is to ensure that when a child leaves Eka, they possess not just academic knowledge, but the ability to think critically, navigate social situations, and approach new challenges with genuine confidence. Picture abhi baaki hai doston, as there is always a new skill to master and a new world to explore.

I am the founder here at Eka, and for 11 years, I have watched children transform from hesitant toddlers into bold, independent thinkers. My team and I believe that if you give a child the right tools and a supportive environment, they will show you exactly what they are capable of achieving.
