About Commissioned Portrait Painting
I see portrait painting as much more than just copying a face. For me, it’s about catching a feeling, a memory, or a tiny slice of someone’s world. Every painting I make is a shot at showing who someone really is, not just how they look.
How I Work
My training from Sir J.J. School of Art taught me to look for details others might miss. I paint with acrylic on canvas, always focusing on the small things - maybe it’s the shine in a bindi, a quirky grin, or the folds of a dupatta. That’s where the story really sits, na?
- Every commission starts with your photo. Better quality means more I can work with.
- I usually share progress pics, so you can see your hand-painted family portrait shaping up, step by step.
- Final piece is signed and ready to hang. If you want to talk about frame options, just let me know.
Types of Portraits
- Individual portraits (traditional or casual)
- Couple and group portraits, including pets (haan, even your dog or cat - custom pet portrait painting is a thing!)
- Any mix of people, generations, or relationships you want in one canvas
Quick Facts
- Medium: Acrylic on canvas only
- Sizes: From 18"x24" to 36"x48", others on request
- Backgrounds: Plain, detailed, or whatever you think fits best
If you want a personalized artwork from photo that’ll actually last, I’m here for it. Some imperfections, some realness - that’s what makes it yours.

My Story
I’m Pratap. Mostly, I paint what I feel, what I remember from home. My village, people made everything from bamboo and palm leaves - now, that craft’s nearly gone. I learned art at Sir J.J. School but my heart’s with those old woven shapes. My work tries to keep those memories alive, and talks about how we all keep struggling inside, just like our ancestors did. That’s what I want to say with every brush stroke.
My Work
Conceptual Contemporary Paintings - I make paintings with a special bamboo texture, showing life’s silent struggles and tribal roots.
Murals and 3D Street Art - I create murals for restaurants, universities, and public spaces, often using tribal handicraft themes.
Live Pencil Sketches & Portraits - I sketch people live, and take commissions for realistic family or individual portraits.
Mediums I Use - Mostly acrylic on canvas, but sometimes watercolor, oil, and pencil depending on the mood and story.
