About

What Drives My Art

I paint to hold onto stories that shaped me. My work often circles back to the woven patterns of bamboo and palm leaves - stuff from my village days and my tribal roots. That craft is vanishing, so I put it in my paintings, hoping folks remember where we came from. This sense of struggle, of always moving and adapting, runs through all my canvas work - it’s not just art, it’s a bit of my own journey.

My Artistic Approach

  • Most of my pieces are acrylic on canvas because it lets me play with texture and bold color. I also mess around with watercolors and oils when a mood hits.
  • My style falls under contemporary Indian painting, but you’ll find a mix of surreal art storytelling and old-school motifs, all mashed together with a personal twist.
  • I’m big on sketching real life too. You’ll spot Mumbai local train scenes, market crowds, daily hustle - simple but raw moments.

What You’ll Find in My Collection

  • Large conceptual works with tribal woven motif art, built for people who want statement pieces in their space.
  • Handmade canvas artwork that brings in spiritual themes, like Radha Krishna or Ganesha, for that little touch of home or tradition.
  • Quick sketches and smaller, moody landscapes for folks who like a slice of daily India on their wall.

Why My Work Is What It Is

I studied at Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. That formal training gave me technique, but my inspiration is still rooted in my own people and the stories I grew up with. Every painting is a mix of memory, struggle, and a bit of hope for what’s next.

My Story

I’m Pratap. Mostly, I paint what I feel, what I remember from home. My village, people made everything from bamboo and palm leaves - now, that craft’s nearly gone. I learned art at Sir J.J. School but my heart’s with those old woven shapes. My work tries to keep those memories alive, and talks about how we all keep struggling inside, just like our ancestors did. That’s what I want to say with every brush stroke.

My Work

Conceptual Contemporary Paintings - I make paintings with a special bamboo texture, showing life’s silent struggles and tribal roots.

Murals and 3D Street Art - I create murals for restaurants, universities, and public spaces, often using tribal handicraft themes.

Live Pencil Sketches & Portraits - I sketch people live, and take commissions for realistic family or individual portraits.

Mediums I Use - Mostly acrylic on canvas, but sometimes watercolor, oil, and pencil depending on the mood and story.
